Good afternoon everyone,
It has been a while since I have posted anything on here, but it's not because I didn't want to! It seems like every time I have been about to post, it's time to go. Oh, well, it has been a fun and eventful few weeks here. I have been able to help around in the studio a lot lately doing some minor floor directing and helping with cameras. I really had no clue how to work a camera other than the one on my phone before I came here, so that has been a really awesome learning experience. I have helped with some skype interviews that have been done here as well, and those have been pretty interesting. I never really noticed how much communication and preparation goes into those interviews. They take a while to set up and get the interviewee online, but they have been really interesting to hear so far. The interview we did today was with a former Police Chief from Seattle who was against the war on drugs, and even went as far as to say it was racist. It definitely was not something I ever expected to hear from a former member of a police department, and I'm glad FSTV is willing to show those kind of opinions. Also, I have been working the camera for our newswire shoots, which are pretty cool too. I'm glad I get to listen to what were talking about because we cover so many important topics in the news that don't get mentioned anywhere else.
Finally, I have been working a lot on Action Calendar. I think the last couple weeks we have kind of been struggling to get it all pieced together by the time it is supposed to be done. I think part of this was a lack of communication on my part about the events. Just so you guys know, if you didn't already there's a document for the events. If you are not included, send me an e-mail and I will share it with you. We usually try to get a finished product the Wednesday of each week, so seeing events before then is a major help. Thanks to everyone for their help with it as well. Well, time for me to go watch the Stanley Cup. Have a nice weekend!

I'm glad you are pumped to use the camera's. It's a real treat to get to touch those babies, even if you are doing minimal work. Skype is so tricky, you are right, and it usually has to do with the other party's setting, which can be a bit testy on occasion. Hope you enjoyed the Stanley Cup!
